1 What is breast reduction?

The procedure consists of removing fat, glandular tissue, and skin from the breasts, in order to make them smaller, lighter, and firmer. Within this surgery, the size of the areolas can also be reduced. The goal is to achieve more harmonious breasts in proportion to the rest of the body.

Yes. The scar can vary depending on the technique performed by the cosmetic surgeon.

The medications are analgesics and antibiotics.

Although discomforts rarely occur after breast reduction, bleeding, seroma, changes in areola sensitivity, infection, healing problems, and difficulty breastfeeding may occur after surgery.
